Wiltshire Good Neighbour Service = Closed from 1st April 2016
For the past five years Community First has been supporting vulnerable people over 60 years old in their local communities through the Good Neighbour Service.
We are immensely proud of the work the Good Neighbour Co-ordinators have done to help so many people over this period. On average the service has reached over 400 individuals a year helping them to access a wide range of services, including advice, transport, home adaptions, social groups, Surviving Winter grants and health care.
Wiltshire Council, the main funder, has decided to devolve future funding through each Community Area Board. This means that they will no longer have a contract with Community First. Sadly this means that the current Good Neighbour Service will cease operation from 1st April 2016. A reduced service, focusing primarily on financial inclusion, will continue in Royal Wootton Bassett and Trowbridge up until the end of June 2016.
