Energy Efficiency for Village Halls and Community Buildings

Background

Over several years the Village Halls Advice Service has provided information and support to management committees of village halls and community buildings on projects to improve energy efficiency. These projects bring many benefits- increased comfort levels for users of the hall, reduced energy costs, easier to maintain buildings and, of course, reduction in use of carbon.

In the last year the Village Halls Advice Service has worked with Wiltshire Council SEACs project to undertake energy audits of 10 community buildings which have helped these halls identify how to make improvements that will lead to greater energy efficiency.  The SEACs project has now ended but the Village Halls Advice Service will continue to offer advice on energy efficiency and to offer low cost energy audits to Wiltshire & Swindon community buildings.

Energy Audits for village halls and community buildings- how can Community First help?

1. Energy Efficiency Toolkit for Village Halls This toolkit provides information about how to tackle the subject of energy efficiency including guidance about how to undertake a simple form of DIY energy audit.   The Toolkit can be downloaded from here.

2. A comprehensive energy audit service is available from our Village Halls Advice Service as a chargeable service. If you would like further information about this service please contact the Village Halls Advisor here.
