Wheelchair Vehicle MPV Transport for the Housebound
Community First is helping housebound people to get out and about by loaning them a wheelchair accessible vehicle at charitable rates. The vehicle has helped a large number of people who would otherwise be stuck at home.
The M.P.V. can be driven using an ordinary car licence and it can carry up to four passengers plus one wheelchair which can be wheeled straight into the vehicle.
The Hire charge is 15p per mile plus a £4.70 per hour session charge (the session charge only applies when passengers are being carried).

Become a friend of Youth Action Wiltshire this Christmas
Award-winning Youth Action Wiltshire is asking more people to support its vital work with vulnerable young people this Christmas, including its work with young carers.
It costs from just £50 a year to become a Friend of Youth Action Wiltshire but the money all goes to good causes. YAW, part of Community First in Wiltshire, works with a network of over 70 youth clubs and also supports over 750 young carers, some of whom may be as young as five.
In addition it runs many youth programmes throughout the year, such as Project Inspire, which helps vulnerable young people to gain qualifications and experience through volunteering, residential and other planned activities.

Landfill tax funds renovations at River Bourne Community Farm
River Bourne Community Farm has carried out major renovations thanks to a £15,600 donation from waste treatment and recycling company Hills Waste Solutions Limited.
The money has come from the Landfill Communities Fund, administered by Community First, which allows waste operators to divert some of the Landfill Tax due on waste sent to landfill to community and environmental projects.
The renovations, which include the refurbishment of a traditional Dutch hay barn and the construction of new animal pens, were officially launched at the farm today (Tuesday November 8th). They mean that River Bourne Community Farm CIC is well on the way to its dream of opening more of its facilities to the public.
