Support for local community minibus schemes

Across Wiltshire and Swindon there are 22 community minibus schemes who provide a range of transport services to people who may otherwise have no alternative means of getting around.

Please visit www.wiltshirecommunitytransport.org.uk for further information about the services provided by these schemes.

Community First provides a broad range of support to these groups.

 Direct community transport services

The type of community transport services delivered directly by Community First includes a minibus sharing scheme and a Wheels to Work scheme.

Community First’s minibus sharing scheme (known as the Wiltshire All Vehicle Sharing Scheme or WAVeSS for short) is a Wiltshire-based scheme which brokers the ‘downtime’ of minibuses owned by local community-based organisations to other local groups needing affordable minibus transport.

Follow the link to WAVeSS for further information.

Community First’s Wheels to Work scheme (known as Wiltshire Wheels to Work) is a moped loan scheme for people aged 16+ living in Wiltshire who would otherwise not be able to access work or work-based training.

Follow the link to Wheels to Work for further information.
