October 2018 marks the launch of an exciting new partnership between Community First and Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan Cancer Connections is a new community engagement project that aims to understand how being rurally isolated impacts upon experiences and associated outcomes for people living with cancer in Wiltshire.
Clerks to Wiltshire Association of Local Councils (WALC) member councils are invited to attend a free ‘Introduction to Community Organising’ training session led by qualified Community Organisers Alex Neale and Katrina Watson from Community First and Social Action Hub Wiltshire and Swindon.
LACE UP: Community First supports ACRE to “Up” the health activities of rural residents in Wiltshire.
Community First is working with Sport England and Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) to run a pilot project in 2018 which promotes cost effective physical activity, engagement in sport and healthy lifestyles in rural communities across Wiltshire.
Community First has launched a digital campaign #OneMillionMiles with the ambitious aim of achieving a million volunteering miles in 2017 through the Wiltshire Link and Community Transport service.

Community First and Healthwatch Wiltshire supported a group of Young Listeners to find out how young people in Wiltshire feel about Health and Social Care. The project was shortlisted for the Children & Young People Now 2016 awards.
Community First and Wiltshire Village Halls Association (WVHA), has invested in the development of a new website to ensure that much needed support continues to be provided to village halls and community buildings in Wiltshire.
During the last twelve months we have provided intensive support to 180 young carers and delivered 69 bespoke group work respite programmes. Highlights include; Residential leadership programmes at Oxenwood Outdoor Education Centre and environmentally focussed...
An update from Youth Action Wiltshire Project Inspire. Throughout the last year over 80% of young people referred to our provision NEET have moved into Education, Employment and Training (EET).
It is a pleasure to support the 100’s of dedicated volunteers who facilitate Wiltshire’s Youth Clubs. Each of our 65 affiliated youth clubs is different, but all offer safe places for young people to go, role models and positive activities that promote personal development.
