The Parish Plan & Community Consultation team supports a wide range of community initiatives and advises about community-led plans such as parish plans.

Our support includes advising about the development of new projects and initiatives including funding, getting started and developing the skills to succeed.

Ideas for new community projects and initiatives often arise from a community-led plan such as a parish plan, village design statement or perhaps from another type of community consultation.

Parish and community-led plans are undertaken to find out the needs of a community now and in the next few years. We can advise about the range of techniques available, how to get going and what funding might be available. Training is available in using the techniques, or we can provide facilitation at a meeting or event. (Click here to find out more about how Community First can help).

Community newsletters
As a service to editors of community newsletters and to local voluntary organisations we organise the distribution of a bi-annual mailing of information leaflets to newsletter editors for inclusion in parish newsletters. The leaflets provide information about a range of services and events of particular interest to people living in rural parishes.
