The Parish Plan & Community Consultation team supports a range of community groups and initiatives and assists with community needs assessments.

We can give advice about the development of new projects and initiatives including funding advice, how to get started and who else can help.

Ideas for new projects and initiatives often arise from a community needs assessment such as a parish plan, village design statement or other type of community consultation. These are undertaken to find out the needs of a community now and in the next few years. We can advise about the range of techniques available, how to get going and what funding might be available. Training is available using the techniques, or we can provide facilitation at a meeting or event. (Click here to find out how Community First can help)

Community newsletters
As a service to editors of community newsletters and to local voluntary organisations we organise the distribution of a bi-annual mailing of information leaflets to newsletter editors for inclusion in parish newsletters. The leaflets provide information about a range of services and events of particular interest to people living in rural parishes.
