COMMUNITY REGENERATION and BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The Wiltshire and Swindon Rural Renaissance Partnership is a local initiative working towards supporting rural communities respond to and influence economic development and implementation of sustainable projects to boost the rural economy and help communities access services. £2.4 million investment of matched funding from the South West Regional Development Agency has been awarded across rural areas of Wiltshire and Swindon.
It has been a great achievement in allocating the funding to many exciting projects within the Wiltshire and Swindon area. The Rural Renaissance Partnership now concentrates on supporting these projects to ensure they deliver against targets and within the funding timescales.
Project proposals addressed the areas below:
1 Projects creating of a conducive environment for rural enterprise - Helping to create the right conditions for attracting rural enterprise and assisting it to grow and be sustainable in the rural areas of Wiltshire and Swindon.
2 Workforce training and development projects - Projects concerned with training, retraining and developing individuals in rural areas, to maximise their potential contribution to sustainable rural communities.
3 Facilities and services - Projects that aim to develop and enhance the provision of high quality, accessible, facilities and services in rural areas.
4 Social and economic exclusion - Develop initiatives that tackle social and economic exclusion by providing better access to local services and employment and training opportunities.
5 Rural workspace developments - Support, advice and financial intervention is provided for the creation of rural workspace
