Community First has been working to strengthen and sustain the unique
vibrancy and character of Wiltshire rural communities for over 40 years
and has established an unrivalled reputation for innovative and effective
community development and support activity.
Our work will be found in almost every community and parish in Wiltshire
and Swindon. Working in partnership with grass roots communities and multi-sector
funder and voluntary organisations Community First delivers expertise
and active development support to help sustain and improve the experience
and quality of rural living for those most in need in our communities.
Our work includes village halls, local councils, community grants, rural
services, community projects and services, rural housing, credit unions,
community transport, Link schemes, social enterprise, village shops and
consultancy support.
The Community Grants programmes deliver further benefits in support of
wide ranging local “grass roots” activities – from village
ponds and play areas to cycle paths and lunch clubs.
Wherever you are living in rural Wiltshire it is more than likely that
Community First has already made a significant and positive impact in
your community.
