Wheels to Work
Wiltshire Wheels to Work is a moped loan scheme for those aged 17 or over, living in Wiltshire, who are unable to access work or work-based training because of transport difficulties.
Wiltshire Wheels to Work (Moped Scheme)
Wiltshire Wheels to Work is a moped loan scheme for Building Bridges programme participants, aged 17 or over and living in Swindon or Wiltshire, who cannot get to work or work-based training because of a lack of transport. The scheme, managed by Community First, provides a fully insured scooter, rider training and equipment on a short term, not for profit basis to help overcome such difficulties.
There are a number of conditions for successfully applying to the scheme, some of these are:
- Be aged 17 or over
- Possess a provisional or full driving licence
- Be a Building Bridges programme participant
- Have an offer or employment
- Have an offer of work-based training
- Be at risk of losing their job because of transport issues
Each application will be assessed against these points and the individual needs of the person applying for the scheme.
Applicants who are accepted onto the scheme are provided with a subsidised moped for several months along with fully comprehensive insurance, road tax, breakdown cover and general maintenance. Compulsory basic Training (CBT) helmet, gloves, motorcycle jacket, lock and high visibility vest are also provided as part of the scheme.
