Call for expressions of interest
Community First purchased the freehold of Oxenwood Outdoor Education Centre (OOEC) from Wiltshire Council in October 2019, with the aim of saving a much loved and well used outdoor education centre for the county. Our charity is committed to this acquisition and being able to secure the facility long term, so that the legacy of past experiences and achievements particularly for young people is upheld and continues to offer unique experiences for future generations.
Oxenwood has a significant role to play in the provision of outdoor education for young people, especially to those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged. The Centre has been aimed principally at schools and youth groups for residential stays or day activities, participating in a range of activities proven to have significant benefits such as increasing soft skills; communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
It is a fantastic facility but in great need of refurbishment to improve and modernise its facilities and remain competitive in the current marketplace. A project steering group of senior management and Trustees have developed a scope of requirements and created a block plan.
This is an ambitious project for Community First and underlines the importance of Oxenwood as one of our key strategic assets to deliver our services. The scale of this investment is significant for an organisation of our size, so we will therefore require the project to be delivered with clear parameters and milestones to ensure its viability without impacting on our service delivery.
We are seeking expressions of interest from companies and individuals with the required experience, track record and skills to support the next stage of the project and to help us take forward our aspirations and manage the scheme to the point it is fit to submit to planners.
The project management specification can be found below, along with a template expression of interest form:
- Oxenwood Project Management Specification (closed)
- Expression of interest form (closed)
Expressions of interest should be submitted using the template form and sent to Lynn Gibson (Chief Executive) by email: email@example.com, no later than 19th July 2023. Submitted expressions of interest will be reviewed on 26th July 2023.
