Community First operates Oxenwood Outdoor Education Centre, an outdoor learning centre providing first class educational visits designed around your learning objectives and desired outcomes.

What we do;

Oxenwood Outdoor Education Centre provides high quality, day, multi day and residential outdoor education programmes for schools and youth groups. Some of our most popular adventure activities include; Climbing, Archery, Mountain Biking and Cycle Skills, Problem Solving, Shelter Building, Canoeing, Kayaking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Raft Building, Bushcraft and Orienteering. Alongside our unique Historical, Literacy and Theme Days.
 
All of our programmes are made bespoke, to meet your groups individual needs. With instructors focussed on group learning and safety. Our activities are centred around teamwork and effective communication, while building confidence and giving young people the opportunity to set their own measurable goals and celebrate their achievements.
 
Our intimate residential accommodation can cater for up to 38 group members and 8 group leaders. With a fully equipped catering kitchen, full toilet and shower facilities, including disabled access facilities, a main hall, staff room, playing field and fully equipped classroom, all set in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Coronavirus Update

The Government and NYA released new guidance for schools and the youth work sector, as of 26th March 2021.

Day trips have been permitted from the 12th April 2021 onwards, with pre-booked residentials following strict COVID-19 safety measures, including ‘micro bubbles of 6’ able to take place from 17th May 2021.

From the 21st of June 2021, residential projects can be provided for ‘bubbled school groups’ & ‘bubbled youth work sector groups’ of a maximum of 30 young people, if all aged under 18 years.

If groups include young people aged over 18’s years, ‘micro bubbles of 6’, must be maintained throughout the residential.
