The Future of Youth Work in Wiltshire
Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Work Network and Wiltshire Youth Partnership Networking and Development Day
Date: Monday 18th March 2024
Time: 10am – 2.30pm
Location: Wiltshire Scout Centre, Potterne Wick, Devizes, SN10 5QT
Please join us for the Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Work Network (WSYWN) Networking and Development Day to explore the Future of Youth Work in Wiltshire. To help us manage the event, we’re asking you to register to attend, please book your place on Eventbrite.
For over 3 years the Youth Work Network has been meeting online, we are excited to host our first face to face event.
During the day we will explore our collective vision and priorities for Youth Work in Wiltshire and Swindon by exploring your ideas, sharing your activities, discussing and networking with your peers and learning from others. We’ll have guest facilitators and speakers.
The Wiltshire Youth Partnership is about working together to improve the youth offer across the county of Wiltshire. It’s about being more strategic, by working together – youth organisations and those passionate about improving outcomes for local young people, collectively we are striving to have greater influence and impact.
Come and be involved, ensure your voice is part of the Partnership development!
For initial bookings, please limit to 1 or 2 people per organisation so we can enable as many different organisations to attend as possible, we will review this, and extend if we have space available, thank you.
The aspirations for the Wiltshire Youth Partnership cover the county of Wiltshire, so we are keen to have as many groups from across Wiltshire and Swindon involved and look forward to seeing you in March!
Thanks to those who joined the WSYWN meeting on Monday 22nd January. The theme was supporting young people and connecting in your local area, headlines from the group discussions are on the Jamboard.
Wiltshire Together was also mentioned at the meeting, please see below for information about Wiltshire Together. Wessex Community Action (WCA) are hosting some short information/support sessions to help you register on Wiltshire Together soon and we have the potential to arrange one specifically for the Youth Work Network.
Future meetings in 2024: Mondays 11:00 to 12:30 online: 20 May, 8 July, 23 Sept, 25 Nov – please suggest ideas for themes/speakers for these meetings and/or let us know if there’s anything you’d like to share via our e-updates, or at a future meeting.

All Together
Who are we? Wiltshire Together is a free community platform that connects people in Wiltshire to their community. You can post a variety of community listings, services, events or volunteering opportunities to this platform. We’re Wessex Community Action – the council for voluntary service in Wiltshire – the organisation behind Wiltshire Together. We support groups and organisations by bringing together networks and connecting local voluntary and community organisations with each other and with strategic and systems partners, to create, pursue and implement opportunities for joint working.
What’s the opportunity? The new front door for Wiltshire Council’s directory of organisations and statutory services for families, children and young people is now on Wiltshire Together. This autumn will see a range of large-scale marketing and promotion to residents all over Wiltshire.
We don’t want you to miss out on this opportunity to promote your organisation and services for free to a wider audience. All Together was launched in November 2023.
We would love to welcome you to Wiltshire Together where you can promote your activities alongside a varied directory of community groups, organisations and statutory services. Simply visit Wiltshire Together and register. You will then be guided to complete your profile and add your first activities. When you reach the ‘best match’ tag stage of adding an activity, you simply need to select the tag ‘All together’ under ‘badges’.
If you would like a proper introduction to Wiltshire Together and all it offers, we’re offering a series of drop-in sessions to meet the Wessex Community Action team behind Wiltshire Together and ask any questions you may have. Please request to book a session convenient to you by emailing wiltshiretogether@wessexcommunityaction.org.uk
