Wiltshire College film students help Community First capture Link Scheme and Community Minibus experiences.
Film and TV production students from Wiltshire College are helping Community First create a short film to encourage more people to get involved in their local Link Scheme or Community minibus group.
Seven students were out and about for three days filming current Link and community minibus volunteers from all over Wiltshire, as well as speaking to passengers about their experiences of using community transport.
The students were working alongside Linda O’Gorman, Link Officer and Jenny Staton, Community Transport Support Officer for the filming.
Linda explained how well the first day of filming had gone:
“The students really interacted well with the Seend Link volunteers and passengers, who were the subjects of filming. They had good social and communication skills and put people at ease. Listening well to what people said to them and picking up a lot more about the whole service and also how local transport can affect people’s lives.”
Jenny said:
“Each of the students worked fantastically, even though they only started the course in September last year. Community First would like to thank all the Link and community minibus volunteers and passengers who have given up their time to take part in the film. It will be used on Community First’s website and social media to promote volunteering for Link and community minibuses. The film will also show that it is not just the passengers that benefit from Link and community minibus groups, many volunteers enjoy the friendship and companionship that belonging to the group brings them”.
