This year Community First is participating in the Big Give #ChristmasChallenge in support of our Wiltshire Young Carers Service, led by our fantastic Youth Action Wiltshire team.
For one week only, any donation you make to us via Big Give will be doubled until we meet our match funding target.
Wiltshire Young Carers Service
Youth Action Wiltshire team works with hundreds of young carers and their families and we are extremely proud to have been providing support for young carers in Wiltshire for 25 years. We currently offer the following support for young carers in Wiltshire:
- A trusted young carers support worker and a chance to meet other young carers.
- Support planning.
- One-to-one mentoring, coaching and time to talk sessions.
- Access to respite activities during school holidays.
- Regular term time young carers clubs.
- Referral to other partners including specialist counselling.
- Information advice and guidance
- Help with education
Young carers supported through our service take part in a variety of exciting activities, offering life-changing opportunities and a chance to meet other young carers in a safe, supportive environment. Creativity and Arts
A group of young carers recently took part in a music project facilitated by music therapist and songwriter Will Lawton. The young carers composed and performed a song about their experience of being a young carer.

Adventure Activities
A group of young carers supported by Youth Action Wiltshire recently joined young people from our Splash Service on an amazing voyage with Tall Ships Youth Trust. The young people also met Team GB and Olympic kite surfer Maddy Anderson.

Between 28th November – 5th December 2023, your support for young carers in Wiltshire will make double the difference with the Big Give Christmas Challenge.
Every donation pledged between 28th November – 5th December 2023 is eligible to be match funded, until we meet our match-funding target of £2,000.
