Small Community Groups Invited to Help Shape Wiltshire’s Future VCSE Strategy
Volunteer-led and grassroots community groups across Wiltshire are being invited to help shape how Wiltshire Council works with the voluntary and community sector in the future.
Community First and Wessex Community Action are hosting two free online workshops this August to hear directly from smaller organisations about the support they need, what’s working well, and where things could be improved.
These sessions are part of the development of a new VCSE Strategic Framework—a document that will set out how the Council and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector can work together more effectively.
“We know small groups are often the first to step in when people need help—from running warm spaces and food banks to youth clubs, transport schemes, and local friendship groups,” say Amber Skyring (Community First) and Neil Cotton (Wessex Community Action). “But these groups are often left out of strategic conversations. These workshops are about changing that.”
The workshops are designed specifically for small, volunteer-led, and grassroots groups and will be held online via Zoom to ensure they are accessible across the county.
Groups who are unable to attend can still take part by completing a short online survey, ensuring that every voice has the chance to be heard.
