Community First Statement on the Passing of Her Majesty The Queen

The team at Community First are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. On behalf of our staff team and trustees, we offer our sincere condolences, thoughts and very best wishes to members of The Royal Family during this difficult time.

The Queen leaves an extraordinary legacy. Through her 70-year reign she demonstrated a tireless sense of duty, honour and leadership, both as a Head of State and through her many Royal patronages. Her memory will live on through her beloved family and the countless organisations, charities, groups and individuals whose lives were touched by her kindness and service.

Like many charities and individuals, we will be observing a period of mourning as a mark of respect for The Queen and The Royal Family. For those who would like to pay their respects, Wiltshire Council has created a book of condolences which can be signed online or in person at County Hall. The book of condolences will be open for messages and tributes until after The Queen’s funeral. Messages shared through the book of condolence will be printed and bound into a book, before being sent to the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre for the archives.

Mrs Sarah Rose Troughton, HM Lord- Lieutenant of Wiltshire and President of Community First has left the following public message in the book of condolence:

“As Her Majesty The Queen’s representative in Wiltshire and Swindon, and on behalf of the Wiltshire Lieutenancy, I send my deep condolences and prayers to Her Majesty’s immediate family. Her Majesty’s long, unique reign and her steadfast, dedicated life of service and devotion to our nation will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude. We can of course look forward to His Majesty the King as her true successor and assure him and his family of Wiltshire’s loyalty and support.”

Once again we express our profound sadness and our very best wishes to all who mourn during this time.
