This summary highlights key recommendations emerging from our 2024 engagement work, which focused on listening directly to residents to inform and shape future services. It presents five completed and published consultation reports, summarising their recommendations.

While several projects have concluded, others are still in progress or have been deferred, reflecting the dynamic and responsive nature of our engagement approach.
This summary outlines the core aims of each consultation and the resulting reports shaped by resident input.
Key Themes and Areas of Focus
1. CQC Inspection & Care Act Assessments
- Engaged individuals who had undergone a Care Act Assessment or Carer’s Assessment.
- Provided a resident-led report to support the CQC’s inspection process.
- Helped identify individuals and groups to participate in CQC-led focus groups.
2. Learning Disability: Health Screening & Life Expectancy
- Worked in partnership with Public Health and individuals with lived experience.
- Explored ways to improve access to health screening for people with learning disabilities.
3. Prevention & Well-being Strategy
- Consulted residents on their understanding of prevention and their views on the strategy’s goals.
- Reviewed whether the language used was clear, accessible, and resonated with residents.
4. Accommodation Strategy
- Engaged people aged 50+ to discuss current and future housing needs.
- Investigated the types of housing and support that enable independent living in later life.
5. Homecare
- Gathered and analysed feedback from residents to help inform the design of Wiltshire Council’s new homecare contracts, set for implementation in March 2026.
